Professional Background:
In
November 01, 1986 together with his friends Dolores Lopez-Lira
and Jose Luis Martinez of Lomas Travel Group founded IVI
Cancun’s DMC and since then he has been the dynamic
entrepreneur of many other enterprises interconnected to
the hospitality industry all over Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama
and the US, such as:

Career
Steps: (1971-1986)
His
career commenced at the Acapulco Hilton Hotel (1971) from
being a vigorous Dry & Cleaning Valet to Bellman, Groups
and Conventions Manager then at the Canadian Pacific Hotel
(1975). He was appointed as the youngest ever DOS all over
Mexico with Continental Hotels (1976). He acted as Regional
DOS and Marketing for Fiesta Americana, Crowne Plaza and
Holiday Inn (1979). He was invited to head up the Sales
and Marketing team for the Hyatt Regency Cancun (1984) as
Regional DOS and Marketing until his departure to become
a successful entrepreneur.
Associations
& Honors:
He
was President for the HSMAI at the Acapulco Chapter (1982-1984),
President for the Cancun Travel Agencies Association (AMAV
1992-1994)) and Consultant for many Mexican and International
Associations in our Hospitality Industry. He is active member
and part of the Board of Director for ADME – Association
of Destination Management Companies (2004). Also he is the
founder and President for the Mexican Association of DMCs
(2004). He has received numerous awards, recognitions, diplomas
and testimonials from Incentive Houses, Event Companies,
Government; Associations and clients from all over the world.
Education:
He
has a Graduate Degree in Tourism Administration at the State
University of Guerrero (1976). He also counts with numerous
diplomas and certifications from Cornell University, Holiday
Inn University, SITE, ADME, ISMP, MPI and HSMAI
Personal
Information:
José-Manuel
was born in Mexico City in 1951, raised in Acapulco, Catskills
at upstate New York., actually he lives in Cancun. Married
to his wife, Araceli (1974), they have two children and
two grand children. In his personal time he enjoys meeting
people, reading; playing golf, tennis or bowling. “Attitude
is everything”

Professional Background:
After her birth in Acapulco, Alicia was raised in Cancun
and has accumulated 20 years of experience in the tourism
industry. Her experience includes top executive positions
in DMC companies and prestigious hotel chains. Completing
various MPI and SITE university courses as well as marketing
and ISO 9000 Quality Standard courses, Alicia has sharpened
her skills to where she was recognized as the first Latin
American to achieve the DMCP Designation (Destination Management
Certified Professional) from ADME. She has been with the
IVI family for five years handling marketing strategies
as well as business and planning departments under her direction.

Professional Background:
Born
in Acapulco, Mexico, Manolo has been a resident of Cancun
for 22 years with more than 5 of those working in computer
systems. He studied and graduated at the Anahuac University
of Cancun in Communication and has used this knowledge in
his work.
Working
with IVI Cancun since 1998, Manolo is IVI Cancun’s
Quality Director. He also assists in the development of
IVI Cancun’s Interactive CD-ROM Editions for Meso-American
Tourism. |

In
febrero, 1999 Ligia started her partnership in Costa
Rica with IVI Cancun’s DMC and since then she
has been the dynamic entrepreneur and manager of this
successful operation. She has in very short time consolidated
a name and prestige for the company, abroad as well
as in Costa Rica.Thanks to her professionalism, IVI
Costa Rica provides reliable high quality services to
its clients;paying attention to every important detail.
Her personal experience in different fields of endeavour
and particularly tourism has provided her with the professional
skills required to meet the multiple challenges that
such an activity as tourism demands.

Jorge
is a well seasoned professional in the tourist industry.
His long experience in the field, mature personality
and approach to people and problem solving abilities,
together with his solid culture, full bilinguals and
working knowledge of French, Italian and even some Russian
makes him one of the most versatile and valuable pieces
in our company. He went to school in Costa Rica but
graduated from High School in Sevier County H.S. in
Tennessee in 1973. He studied Business Administrationwith
emphasis in tourism at Universidad de Costa Rica, San
Pedro. With a grant he was able to attend for a while
the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs.
The aviation worm got him also to earn a scholarship
from Aviación Civil del Gobierno de Costa Rica
to study at OACI -Organización de Aviación
Civil Internacional - in Ciudad de México where
he graduated as Oficial de Operaciones Aeronáuticas.
Afterwards he became an Aeronautics Operations Officer
at the Juan Santamaría International Airport
for the Costa Rican Government. From there he moved
to work with the Swiss Travel Service S.A. in the field
of tourism. The last year he began to work as an advisor
with us and currently is our Marketing Manager.

Sonia
whose outgoing personality and easy going nature captivates
everyone that gets to know her, was born in Costa Rica.
She recently joined our ranks and has been a real plus
for the company. She brought with her an ample experience
in tourism and public relations which she honed in her
long residency and profesional life in Cancún,
Mexico.
A well rounded profesional with a degree in Psychology
and three years of law school when she came to the field
of tourism she had everything needed to be the success
that she has being. She finished college in the Universidad
de Costa Rica in 1979.
Her work experience includes being a counselor for underaged
boys in the Centro de Adaptación de Menores for
Ministerio de Justicia de Costa Rica; an event organizer
for Colegio Nuestra Señora del Pilar; managing
a Tex-Mex restaurant at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles,
California; and sales representative in Cancún
for various travel and toruism agencies among them:
Intermar Caribe, Viajes Inolvidables, U.T.T. (Brazil),
and Olympus Tours.

is a very energetic and efficient young woman who also
is not lacking in some outstanding artistic instincts.
That has made her a real asset in our company where she
has been of tremendous help in the administrative area

and `performing arts world, which requires a timely and
well directed action. She is also a native of Escazú,
as Brian is, which makes the logistics of many operations
more efficient as well as working with the community where
