Taxco is a hidden city in the folds of a high mountain of the Sierra Madre range of the state of Guerrero. It's a charming town of vast, old, magic Mexico, and one of the oldest mining center in Latin America, still in production.

Taxco word is a phonetic adaptation of its original name -Nahuatl- ,"Tlachco" means a place for playing ball, because the sound "tl" was difficult for the Spaniards to pronounce. But Taxco is very different from the old Indian city of Tlachco, the Pre-Hispanic mining center.Taxco is exclusively from Spanish origin and was found in 1529 by the Spaniards, at the foot of Atachi Mountain, 1,800 meters above sea level, has a dry temperate clime all year round.

We will visit the splendid Santa Prisca church from baroque style, who was constructed in 1758 by don Jose de la Borda a benefactor of the epoch. Actually, the Santa Prisca church is a masterpiece of the mexican viceregal architectural art.

We will have time for a walking sight seeing tour of Taxco picturesque cobblestone streets.
free time for shopping, have dinner or visiting on your own
