1. Do I need a Visa to enter Mexico?
Mexico Visa Policy permits citizens of the countries listed below to travel to Mexico without a visa. (FMTTV):

Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Island, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Uruguay, USA, Venezuela. 2. What can I use as proof of citizenship to re-enter US?

FOR USA CITIZENS ONLY:
Beginning January 23, 2007, ALL persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda will be required to present a valid passport, Air NEXUS card, or U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Document, or an Alien Registration Card, Form I-551, if applicable.
As early as January 1, 2008, ALL persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda by land or sea (including ferries), may be required to present a valid passport or other documents as determined by the Department of Homeland Security. While recent legislative changes permit a later deadline, the Departments of State and Homeland Security are working to meet all requirements as soon as possible. Ample advance notice will be provided to enable the public to obtain passports or passport cards for land/sea entries.

3. What can I expect at Cancun Airport?

Upon arrival at the Cancun airport, you will pass through immigration and present the Mexican immigration agent with your tourist card and your passport with raised seal. You will then claim your luggage and proceed through Customs to declare any goods. You will press a button on a light resembling a traffic signal. A green light means that your bags will pass through without inspection, a red light means that your bags will be inspected.

After passing customs, please keep walking to the outside of the airport building and disregards all people trying to sell transportation and time share. 4. Is it safe to walk around the town at night?
Yes, definitely. The tourist police here are friendly and very helpful. Use your common sense, and be careful, leave your fancy jewelry at home! After dark, stay on the main streets; do not wander on the beaches late at night. Never flash large amounts of money.

5. Are the beaches safe?
Yes, however, remember the only places you will find lifeguards are in front of a few of the major hotels. Be careful and buddy up, swim with a friend, always! Tell other people where you are going to swim and your expected return time.

6. What will the weather be like in January (or any other month)?
Cancun has a tropical humid climate. The average maximum and minimum temperatures are:
From January to March: 20° a 30° C (68° a 86° F)
From April to June: 22° a 32° C (71° a 89° F)
From July to September: 24° a 33° C (75° a 91° F)
From October to December: 20° a 31° C (68° a 87° F)
Remember, this is the Caribbean and nobody can predict the weather.

7. Can I drink the water?
The water here is treated and purified, but the distribution system is not so perfect. In most hotels and restaurants, you will get purified water, if in doubt, ask for bottled water.

8. Can we get married in Cancun?
Most definitely, Cancun is a very romantic location for a wedding, many foreigners get married here. As in every Country, there are legal requirements and procedures you need to comply with. 9. How does the Monetary System works?
Currency:
The official coin is the Mexican Peso, but American Dollars are accepted in most places. The exchange rate with respect to the American Dollar fluctuates daily.

Banks:
Banks open Monday to Friday, usually from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Some branches open on Saturdays and many of them have ATMs within Supermarket premises.

Money Exchange:
The majority of Money Exchanges open from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.. There are Money Exchanges in various areas of the Hotel Zone open after these hours and 'til late into the night.
