Two
hours south of Cancun is the famous site of Tulum with his
cliffside location and spectacular view of the Caribbean.
Be sure to visit El Castillo and the Temples of the Frescoes
and Descending God. Forty minutes west of Tulum is the ancient
city of Cobá, surrounded by five lakes.
Famous
Chichén Itzá, two hours west of Cancun , boasts
the amazing Temple of the Magician, a pyramid with four staircases
and 365 steps. During the spring and fall equinox, the setting
sun forms the shadow of a snake slithering down to earth on
the pyramid. Other spectacular buildings include the Temple
of the Warriors, Ball Court, El Caracol and the Nunnery. |
