SHOTOVER JET is a THRILL THERAPY where speed,
adrenalin and the original and incredible 360º degree
spins are part of this therapy. Feel the force of the wind
as it rushes through your hair and discover the excitement
as you skim across the surface of the lagoon aboard our famous
and environmentally friendly jet boats, which operate with
liquid propane gas and can navigate in a surface of just 10cm
of water. An amazing adventure where emotion, stunning natural
beauty and fun are all combined to form an extraordinary trip
through the mangroves of the Bojorquez and Nichupte Lagoons…

Regular Schedule: 10am, 2pm 3:30pm. (Monday - Saturday). We
have two boats with a capacity for 10 passengers each one.
Suggestions:
• Shotover Jet passengers from 3 to
99 years old.
• For safety reasons people with back, neck and heart
problems or pregnant women will not be allowed to take part
in this tour.
• Life jackets are obligatory for everybody and will
be provided to you in our Lagoon Base before the ride.
• Video cameras will not be allowed aboard the boats
for safety reasons.
• Make sure that you bring a change of clothes or a
towel, you will get wet!
• Our professional photographer captures the emotion
of each of the SHOTOVER JET tours, photos
will be available to purchase immediately.

Our highly trained drivers know the Lagoons and mangroves
canals like the back of their hand. Their ‘driving hours’
are way in excess of the minimum standards required to carry
passengers on the industry Shotover Jet (
in fact, they complete at least 120 hours of driving before
they take their first customer).
Shotover Jet continues to raise industry
standards in safety with an unparalleled maintenance and risk
management programme. The following outlines some of the work
that has been completed in the past years.
Daily Boat Checks:
These have always been undertaken at Shotover Jet
making the boat driver carrying out a daily check at the beginning
and at the end of the day.
Refit Plan:
Every year we put together a comprehensive boat refit programme
which predetermines when boats, engines and jet units will
be rebuilt. At regular intervals, we strip, fully check and
refit all of our boats.

THE
HISTORY
Shotover Jet was born in the shallow snow
fed rivers of the South Island of New Zealand in Queenstown
in the year 1970. It is from the River Shotover where it initiated
that the ride takes its name and to this day continues to
operate. The ride quickly became one of the most popular attractions
in Queenstown and a must do for foreign visitors. Today the
Shotover Jet family operates worldwide in
New Zealand, Acapulco and our most recent addition Cancun.
Over 4 million passengers have been thrilled by “the
world´s most exciting jet boat ride” and we are
certain that you will be too.
ABOUT
YOUR SHOTOVER JET
Your Shotover Jet, are turbo jet boats designed
and built to precise specifications
• Built from heavy gauge marine aluminum the hulls are
designed for maximum strength and manoeuverability.

The boats run on a modified Chevrolet v8 motor which expels
502 cubic inches (8.1 Litres) of water to produce 400 horse
power.
•
The turbo boats measure 4.5m in length and 2.24 m in width
. The Hamilton jet unit expels 400 litres of water per second
to propel these unique boats across the surface of the lagoon
at speeds of up to 70 kmph. They need only 10cm or 4 inches
of water in which to operate!

The unique tiered seating arrangement provides each of the
12 passengers the same uninterrupted view
