Language

Spanish is the official language and English is spoken in the Hotel Zone and other resorts area. The rural population is bilingual, speaking Nahuatl and Spanish.

What to Wear

Dressing is casual for the visits during the day. At night there are several restaurants where is requested tie and, however most restaurants have do not allow bare feet and bathing suits. Finer restaurants prefer pants, skirts or dresses to shorts and t- shirts. Bring cotton summer wear and one long sleeved shirt or sweater for cooler winter evenings.
