At fifteen minutes of the city of Mexico, is the Desert of the Lions -" Desierto de los Leones" it's a wonderful wooded area with its small hills, ravines and springs that supply water to the west area of the capital of Mexico. Its flora constitutes mainly trees of seductive aromas: pines, "oyameles" and "encinos". Its fauna -now scarce - is formed of "mapaches", rabbits, squirrels and diverse birds. Regrettably, the forest has deteriorated due to the man's immoderate looting and to the effects of a plague of worms that invaded it. Due to the height of the park, the climate is generally cold.
