Museum
of the Bishopric
The Regional History Museum of New León, well-known as
the Bishopric Museum , has several rooms where visitors are able
to see a variety of objects that will make them travel in the
different stages of Monterrey. Also, the Bishopric Museum offers
different cultural events to the public as well as a great view
of Monterrey city. It is an old colonial construction that dates
from 1787 that has been transformed into a museum. The Regional
museum of New León was built in the high part of the hill
Chepevera, like summer house of the bishop's brother Rafael José
Verger and Suau. Its first name was Palace of Our Virgin of Guadalupe
and its second, the Bishopric. After having served as quarters,
fortress and hospital they declared it national monument in 1932
and in the 50's, it was conditioned as a museum.
