The
magical Marietas is a groups of islands in la bahía
de Banderas. It is a nature reserve that is home to turtles,
dolphins, several endangered birds and many kinds of tropical
fishes. The Blue Footed Boobies that thrive on Marietas Islands
are also only found in the Galapagos Islands and the Sea of
Cortez. Because it is a protected place, it is not allowed
to stay longer on the islands than a few hours, this in order
to protect the ecosystem.
It is
one of best places to go diving, snorkeling or simply enjoy
a nice day at the beautiful beach. Las Marietas has a coral
barrier and several caves suitable for diving. You can also
go Kayaking and discover all the parts of the islands.
It is
a very famous place for learning how to dive, but you can
also snorkel through a cave to visit Lover's Beach, accessible
only by swimming, where you will find this pristine and beautiful
beach. In the right season, the boat ride offers the opportunity
to view dolphins, stingrays, turtles and whales. If you are
lucky, you will get the opportunity to see some from real
close.
