Southend

Description

The south starts with the Romantic zone, which you enter when you cross Río Cuale. Here you will find the famous Playa de Los Muertos and the mean streets Olas Altas and Basilio Badillo, filled with bars, restaurants, boutiques and an active nightlife. Alongside the beach you will find some of the best restaurants of Vallarta and the bars and clubs are specialized in making martinis and most of them are opened all night long. The zone also has several economic hotels and hostels on the beach.

Located just south of la playa de Los Muertos, Conchas Chinas starts at seashore and continues until the top of the mountain. This residential community is one of the most prestigious of Puerto Vallarta, because it preserves some of the most beautiful places of the Pacific Mexican coast.

The houses, luxurious villas and the exclusive condominiums near the coast and in the mountains, offer spectacular panoramas on the bay, the mountains and the centre of Puerto Vallarta. There is no noise, just silence and tranquility and of course a great view!

Going southwards you will reach the beach Mismaloya where you can enjoy several water activities like swimming, snorkeling and fishing. Alongside the beach are mainly restaurants where you can enjoy the seafood dishes in particular. You can also visit the place that used to be the film set for the movie ´La Noche de la Iguana´ by John Huston. Thanks to this and other movies, Mismaloya changed from a simple fishers village to a popular tourist attraction.

More to the south are the beautiful beaches like Yelapa, Caletas, Quimixto, Majahuitas and many more!
